When is the best time for a 3D ultrasound?

Accepted Answer

We recommend scheduling your 3D scan between 24–36 weeks, with 26–32 weeks being the sweet spot for the best facial images. If you know you have an anterior placenta we recommend coming at 26 weeks. For optimal results, try having a light snack or some orange juice shortly before your appointment and stay well-hydrated starting about 24 hours beforehand.

Can I bring guests or children to my appointment?

We welcome guests and children! Our space has extra comfortable seating, a large TV for viewing, and toys for little ones. We can comfortably accommodate 5 guests and kindly ask that you limit the number of vehicles, when possible, as parking is limited.

Question 3

What happens if we can’t see the baby’s face during the 3D appointment?

If your baby is hiding during your appointment, we will try several techniques to encourage movement. If we are still unable to obtain clear images, moms may return for one complimentary 10-minute rescan within two weeks of the original appointment, at the sonographer’s discretion (only pertains to elective 3D scans. Not applicable for 3D quick view add on).

Do I need to have a full bladder?

For moms that are 12 weeks or less please arrive with a full bladder.

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

We do not bill insurance or process insurance claims. All diagnostic scans are self-pay. However, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note that we are unable to submit claims on your behalf, and reimbursement is not guaranteed, as it depends on your individual insurance plan (only pertains to diagnostic scans).
